Fire Alarm

Our fire alarm is supported by Sun Systems, via 2 hard-wired, Verizon voice phone lines. We’re currently looking for ways to have the fire alarm system contact the DC Fire Department directly, but until then, a Sun Systems operator will receive distress calls from the system, and then contact the DC Fire Department on our behalf.

The fire alarm will emit distress signals on a number of alarms, including loss of power to the building, loss of Verizon Fios connectivity to the building, loss of battery power, and more. If this occurs, and the building is not actually on fire, you can go to the unit in the bottom-level closet, open the red fire control panel on the right of the closet, and press “Ack alarm” to silence the alarm for about 6-12 hours.

If this happens, please contact the board officers to report the alarm and request maintenance to resolve the issue.

If this is an emergency, please contact 911.
